The anti-aging skincare product I wished to have used earlier...
Honestly, there’s no such thing as “TOO EARLY” when it comes to anti-aging. Our skin is constantly aging day by day! (I know, that’s the brutal truth) I really wish I could have discovered this skincare ingredient much earlier to slow down my skin aging process and it’s the ever amazing Retinoid! It is a type of Vitamin A which stimulates production of collagen and new skin cells, keeping our skin looking youthful!
BUT, the only Retinoid you can get OTC is Retinol (which is a type of Retinoid) as they are not the same as prescription Retinoids.
The way Retinol works is that it goes deep beneath the epidermis (outer layer of skin) to your dermis and neutralizes free radicals to boost the production of elastin and collagen, which helps with plumping the skin while improving the texture and tone of the skin! Let’s not forget that it has a slight exfoliating effect which gives the skin a natural glow!
What are the best ways to incorporate Retinol in your skincare routine and which types of it should you go for? Well, we’re here to guide you!
If you have sensitive skin or you’re new to Retinol, we definitely recommend a cream or lotion type of Retinol product as they penetrate the skin much slower compared to serum types. (meaning it’ll be more gentle on your skin!)
